ABOUT

Sam Blanchard is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Studio Art Program at Virginia Tech as well as a Faculty Fellow in the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology in Blacksburg, VA. As a practicing artist, Blanchard maintains an active international exhibition record, with solo exhibitions at such venues as the Las Vegas Contemporary Art Center, the Delaware Contemporary and The New Galley (Calgary, ON). His collaborative work in the fields of computer science and engineering have been presented at South-by-Southwest, World Maker Faire and the International Symposium on Electronic Arts amongst other high profile venues. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ohio University and Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design.
