Computer & Software Requirements
Courses at SOVA are taught on an OSX platform.
The minimum laptop requirements are as follows for Studio Art, Visual Communication Design and the MFA Program:
- 15 in Macbook Pro
- 15 in (diagonal) LED-backlit widescreen display
- 2.3 GHZ
- 4 GB memory
- 500 GB hard drive
The cost of the Macbook can range from $1799 - $2799, depending on the specifications.
These are minimum requirements. A laptop with higher specifications is optional but may result in faster computer performance.
Art History Majors: You are required to follow the University minimum computing requirements. However you may find it beneficial to purchase a Macbook for use in your foundation studio art class.
Software requirements:
Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (student edition)
This subscription will provide updated software requirements for Foundations of Art and Design courses. The cost of this subscription is $29.99 a month with a 1 year commitment.
