Professor Robert Fields


Robert Fields is an artist, designer, and educator who has experienced success in national, regional, and local exhibitions, competitions, and shows in painting, drawing and printmaking. His illustrations have been published in advertising, magazines, books, and newspapers. A long career as a design professional include projects that encompass identity and branding projects, promotional materials, super graphic murals, and web site development and multimedia.

A partial client list would include Papa John's Pizza, The Detroit Magazine, Art Museum of Western Virginia, Memphis University, the City of Memphis, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech. Mr. Fields has received several local and regional ADDys from the American Advertising Federation. The prestigious signature artist designation was achieved in watercolor painting from the National Watercolor Society and the Virginia Watercolor Society as a result of rigorous juried venues.
Mr. Fields started the Graphic Design Program for the Department of Art and Art History in the College of Arts and Sciences at Virginia Tech. His duties orchestrating the growth of this national recognized program included curriculum and program development, funding indicatives, and collaborative ventures with the university, industry, small business, and the community. Grant awards have come from the National Endowment of the Arts, Virginia Commission for the Arts, Virginia Tech, and the corporate sector.
