CURRENT STUDENTS>DANIEL MONZEL
Graduate Student, Creative Technologies
Hi, I’m Daniel. I’m currently a graduate student in the Creative Technologies MFA program at Virginia Tech. I’m seen as a magnetic character, usually found in a dark room filled with computers and no cell service. I am recognized by my peers for my extensive fungal studies, and am accredited by the university to project light onto boxes. One of my many jobs within the department is to dress up in spandex and pretend to play soccer for medical simulations. In my spare time I tend to collaborate with secret companies, using expensive technology to create VR simulations of normal rooms. I once created a giant animation and projected it onto the outside of the Smithsonian Art Museum, and didn’t show up to the exhibit. I design, I model, I rig, I animate, and I’m sometimes home before dinner.
