Creative Scholarship and Research:
Prof. Capone is the current Director of the School of Visual Arts his research relates to the high demand of technology and software development in visual communication design and its interrelationship with fine art. The Visual Design curriculum has forced him to go beyond the traditional with an emphasis in the development of an entrepreneur approach to his research and pedagogy. Research has been in the areas of Creative Technologies related to the Arts, Visual Communication Design and Branding Design, Interactive Typography and Font Design, Product Architecture, Digital Design and Montage and the utilization of an entrepreneurial approach to educating the design professional. His creative scholarship focus is in Visual Branding, Packaging Design, Typography, Environmental Graphic Design and Creative and Cyber Arts Technologies. He has exhibited his paintings and Digital mediums in over 80 International Exhibitions that have been exhibited in six countries, (New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Germany, Japan and France) and Nationally in eight states: (Texas, North Carolina, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia). Professor Capone previous to his academic accomplishments worked twenty years as a professional designer. Professor Capone is the recipient of the College Teaching Excellence Award, the CAUS College Creative Outreach Award and the CAUS Creative Achievement Award.
